Another exciting development for the One Piece: Pirate Warriors game.  It’s scheduled for debut in North America in November 2012 and will be released exclusively on the Sony Playstation 3.  Sorry Xbox and Wii owners, you’ll have to wait your turn!  This is really one of the most exciting smash-em-up video game trailers I’ve seen based on an anime yet.  Zoro and Brook’s melee attacks are literally to die for!  Do you think this new installation will be a game-changer for anime video games?

Judge for yourself!

Picked up a delicious box of One Piece themed Glico Giant Chocolate Pocky recently.  This collector’s item comes with an original board game that features all of the characters from the Straw Hat Crew as playing pieces: Zoro, Luffy, Nami, Sanji, Usopp, Robin, Chopper, Franky, and Brook.

Unfortunately, the entire board game is in Japanese.  Our translators are on the case so that we can figure out how to play this darn game at the company picnic.

While doing floor coverage with starlightzone in the Exhibit Hall, we had to pleasure of meeting Mario, who was also running a very aggressive campaign with his own entourage (Princess and Toad).  Mario explains that he’s running for president in 2012 and admits to selling out completely for any and everybody’s vote.  We gave Mario one of our exclusive  Animeism.org bags and received an awesome Mario4Prez2012 Button that I proudly wore the entire convention. Mario for Prez 2012!!

Check out the video of his campaign:

Bandai recently confirmed at an event in Las Vegas that they will indeed be releasing a first-person brawler-style Dragon Ball Z video game for the Xbox Kinect. Players will be able to play as over 50 characters, including one new fighter, and execute over 100 moves from the series by physically performing them in front of their television.

On a personal note I just want to say how proud I am of all of us tonight. We’ve all been subconsciously/consciously willing this in to existence with our minds over the course of the last 25 years or so, and we finally did it. YATTA!

This stunning Neo-Tokyo replica bike is the spitting image from the epic OVA, Akira. Masashi Teshima spent seven years and ¥10 million (US$121,000) to make his own personal version and now it is getting international praise from Akira fans worldwide and even from the creator himself. The bike went on a road trip around Japan to show off and its final stop was in Tokyo, at a convention that honors the creator of Akira. Check it out:
