Contest Description:
SolarMAX is the official superhero mascot for Sun-Earth Days! Keeping an eye on space weather is quite a large job for one super hero so he needs your help. Your job is to create and submit a new and original anime style character with a visible space weather related super power. Our job is to help SolarMAX by selecting the top 5 submissions to be added to the Sun-Earth Days Superhero team!
The first winning selections will appear on the LIVE Sun-Earth Days webcast on March 22, 2013. Your character will also appear as part of a new Sun-Earth Days desktop wallpaper! See the contest directions below to get started! Good luck!
The submission period is from 2/18/13 – 3/20/13. Winning photos will be selected by a group of NASA scientists and outreach personnel.

These look freaking cool! I need them! Someone please buy them for me! Two Dragon Ball Z drinks, a cola and a cider, will be available for purchase in Japan starting February 25. Each drink has six distinct designs (12 total); The cola features artwork from the Saiya-jin saga, while the cider contains images from the Furiza saga. Did i mention that i want these??

Today, I stumbled across an article on Oddity Central covering a 19 year old Ukrainian hairdresser by the name of Anastasiya Shpagina, aka Fukkacumi; which is her self-appointed anime name. There have been several stories of women across the world involving themselves in this trend. There have been many critics, but I think cosplaying (even in the extremes) is an awesome tribute to something which has clearly affected many of us in different ways… OK, fine – it’s a little weird.
