I’ve gotta say - the talent level for all of the contestants on the cosplay costume side of things has always exceeded my expectations. These kids really bring it to the table, some of the costumes were so insane that the people needed help to walk up and down the ramp just to get on stage (because of overly complicated costumes). Huge robots, winged women, and a couple Snakes (from MGS) in boxes. We really enjoy that part of Anime Central a bunch every year - its the sureshot highlight. The skits could’ve been better guys! No reason to be biased, I think that the skits have been way better in the past, although a couple repeat contestants always bring tons of creativity to the table. Animeism would like to take this time to announce its neutral involvement in all of the Yaoi references and jokes going on here at ACEN. We understand its a part of the culture.. just not ours! The best skits involved Yaoi I’m pretty sure. We’re also announcing our candidacy for the winner of next year’s skit contest - we’re going to win, we just don’t know how yet. :p
